Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at many places across the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9amon Saturday, said the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country," said a Met office bulletin.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The well-marked low over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining area persists. It is likely to weaken gradually and merge with the monsoon axis.

The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, centre of the well-marked low, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal to Assam across southern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay, reports UNB.
