2 workers die ‘inhaling toxic gas’in Ctg septic tank

Chattogram, Aug 26 -Two construction workers died after’ inhaling toxic gas’  while cleaning a septic tank in Patiya upazila of Chattogram district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were Md Nazim, 24, son of Solaiman Chowdhury, and Md Tarek, 20, son of Abdul Alim,  residents of Ashai union under the upazila.

Locals said the duo ascended into the septic tank to clean it around 9am as it remained abandoned for long at the house of Dealer Ahmed in Dakshin Ashia area of the union.

As there was no response from inside the tank for long locals informed Fire Service members who retrieved the bodies.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Patiya Police Station Md Nuruzzaman said a police were sent to the spot and  legal action will be taken accordingly. - UNB
