Bogura, Mar 30 -The death toll from consuming suspected toxic alcohol in Bogura rose to three, with another person succumbing to the effects on Saturday night.

The latest-Soni Roy died while undergoing treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

Earlier, on Friday night two others named Aurangzeb and Russell died from similar symptoms.

Another Enamul Haque Pilu is now undergoing treatment at Mohammad Ali Hospital, said Assistant Sub Inspector Lalon Hossain of Shilimpur medical outpost.

On Thursday evening, Aurangzeb bought three plastic bottles of alcohol from Bogura’s No-1 Railgate area and all consumed the alcohol and later experienced severe health complications.

Enamul’s brother Emdad Hossain said his brother, a clothing trader by profession, was known to consume alcohol.

Bogura Sadar police station’s Inspector (Investigation) AKM Moin Uddin said they sent officers to the victims’ homes. However, the families had already buried them before investigations. - UNB
