The body of an unidentified woman, aged around 28, was found hanging in a bathroom at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Sunday morning.

Md Selim, sub-inspector (SI) of the DMCH police outpost, said the body was found around 10:30am in a bathroom between wards 110 and 111.

According to police and hospital sources, a cleaner found the woman's body hanging from a water pipe while cleaning the bathroom.

The cleaner then informed hospital authorities, who notified the Shahbag Police Station.

SI Md Selim said cleaners found the woman hanging from a water pipe around 10:30am and informed the police outpost.

Police went to the spot and informed Shahbag Police Station, but its officials had not arrived there yet, reports UNB.

The woman had a cut on one of her hands, which caused bleeding, he said.

It was not yet clear whether she was killed or committed suicide, the police official added.
