Two minor cousins drown in Narsingdi

Two minor cousins drowned in a water body at Noadia village in Monohardi upazila of Narsingdi district on Friday afternoon.


The deceased were identified as Touhid, 7, son of Md Mahbubur Rahman of Bailabo village in Shibpur upazila and Nabil, 6, son of Bazlur Rahman of Noadia village in Monohardi upazila.

Jahangir Badsha, Officer-in-Charge of Monohardi Police Station, said Nabil and Touhid went out from their homes around 4pm. At one point, Nabil fell into a roadside water body and drowned.

Touhid also drowned while trying to save him.

After searching for them for some time, local people noticed one of the children’s bodies floating in the water, reports UNB.

They later recovered both children from the water and took them to Shibpur Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared them dead.
