Worker found hanging inside Barishal factory

The deceased was identified as Durjoy Saha, 30, a worker of CMS Mug Dal factory and son of Rabinath Saha of Brahmankuti village in Pirojpur. He had been working at the factory for about a year.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kaunia Police Station Sanjit Chandra Nath said they recovered the body around 4:00pm and sent it to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.

According to fellow workers, Durjoy had been performing his regular duties throughout the day before going to his room inside the factory premises.

When he did not return for an extended period, his colleagues began searching for him. One of them, identified as Shakil, looked through the window of the room and found Durjoy hanging from a ceiling fan with a towel tied around his neck.

Police later recovered the body and launched an investigation into the incident, reports UNB.

The OC said it was too early to determine whether the death was a case of suicide or homicide, adding that the exact cause will be known after the autopsy report is received.
