Police recoverering the body of a Saudi expatriate woman in Kalapara.

Patuakhali: Police have recovered the body of a Saudi expatriate woman named Maryam Begum (38) in Kalapara, Patuakhali. Her body was recovered from her house in Darogartabak area of ​​Chakamaiya union of the upazila around 9:30 am on Monday. Her husband Nasir Sikder has been absconding since the incident.

According to police and local sources, the woman, a mother of two children, had been living in Saudi Arabia for about eight years. She had a fight with her husband over family matters after she returned to her village home from Saudi Arabia eight days ago. When her husband Nasir Uddin demanded money from her after yesterday evening, she refused to give it. During this time, Nasir beat her up. Later that night, the couple stayed at home. In the early hours of the morning, Nasir told his father-in-law Jalal Gazi that his wife had committed suicide and fled. Later in the morning, locals went to the house and found the woman's body lying in the courtyard of the house and informed the police.
