The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced a reduction in gold prices by Tk3,452 per bhori, effective Friday.

According to a BAJUS statement issued on Thursday, the price of 22-carat gold has been revised to Tk1,65,734 per bhori (11.664 grams), down from Tk1,69,186.

The association said the adjustment reflects a decline in the price of pure gold (acid gold) in the local market, prompting a revision based on the current market conditions.

The newly set prices per bhori are as follows:

  • 21-carat gold: Tk1,58,199

  • 18-carat gold: Tk1,35,606

  • Traditional gold: Tk1,12,033

These were previously priced at:

  • 21-carat: Tk1,61,499

  • 18-carat: Tk1,38,428

  • Traditional gold: Tk1,14,435

The price of silver remains unchanged, BAJUS confirmed.
