Trade between Bangladesh and India through Benapole land port resumed on Saturday after an 8-day suspension for the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, restoring the port to its usual bustling activity.

Ibrahim Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge of Benapole Checkpost Immigration Police, noted that while trade had paused during the holidays, the movement of passport-holding passengers remained unaffected. He added that, unlike previous years, there was no significant increase in the number of travelers heading to India during the holiday period.

Mamun Kabir Tarafdar, Deputy Director (Traffic) of Benapole Port, confirmed that import-export operations resumed smoothly on Saturday morning following the holiday break. "We have instructed relevant authorities to expedite cargo clearance to prevent congestion and ensure a smooth flow of goods," he said.
