Lakhs of tourists flock to Kuakata on weekends

Patuakhali: Since the opening of the Padma Bridge, the number of tourists has increased in Kuakata. As there is no ferry to Kuakata tourist area by road, tourists from different parts of the country are coming to Kuakata with their loved ones to spend their weekends. These tourists arrived in Kuakata from Thursday afternoon. A record number of tourists came to Kuakata on Friday as well. Arriving tourists walk on the beach with loved ones, some take a dip in the salt water of the sea. Many are sitting on the bench and enjoying the waves crashing on the seashore.

Since the sharp decline of winter, the arrival of tourists in Kuakata has increased sales from marketing to tourism-related businesses. All hotels and motels in Kuakata are booked.

Meanwhile, all tourist spots including Lembu Forest, Shutki Palli, Eco Park, Gangamati tamarisk garden have become popular to tourists. The district police administration along with tourist police are active to provide maximum security to the visitors.

Chagir, an oyster seller on the beach, said that more tourists have come to Kuakata than before in these two weeks. It also increased the sales of the store.

Ibrahim, a bench trader on the beach, said, "We are not able to give the tourists space to sit in the bench today.

Motaleb Sharif, General Secretary of Hotel-Motel Owners Association, said that now there is a large number of tourists coming to Kuakata due to the soothing weather. Most of the rooms in our hotels are booked.

Tourism Police OC Hasnain Parvez said, we are always ready for the safety of tourists. Today there are more tourists than ever before.

Kuakata Mayor Anwar Howladar said that tourists have to face a lot of problems with buses and cars on the highway for the past one month. So we cleaned the field again and arranged to park cars. The work of Kuakata bus stand is being carried out at a fast pace. - Gofran Biswas Palash
