
At the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the benchmark DSEX index advanced by 45 points. The Shariah-based DSES gained 5 points, while the blue-chip DS30 index climbed 15 points.
Share prices increased for a majority of companies, as 263 issues advanced against 66 decliners, while prices of 62 issues remained unchanged.
The turnover also improved, with shares and units worth Tk 368 crore changing hands during the session, compared to Tk 354 crore in the previous trading day.
In the block market, shares of 15 companies worth Tk 19 crore were traded, with Orion Infusion topping the list by trading shares worth Tk 4.94 crore.
Apex Spinning & Knitting Mills Limited topped the DSE gainers’ chart with a price surge of over 8 percent, while Aramit Limited was the worst loser, shedding nearly 7 percent.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also ended higher, with its all-share index CASPI rising by 81 points.
At the port city bourse, prices of 93 companies rose against 38 that fell, while 12 issues closed unchanged.
The turnover, however, at the CSE declined, as shares and units worth Tk 4.30 crore were traded, down from Tk 5.20 crore in the previous session.
Apex Spinning & Knitting Mills Limited also topped the gainers’ list on the CSE with a 10 percent rise, while HR Textile Mills Limited hit the bottom, losing 10 percent, reports UNB.
