Old Age Care Home opened on October 1, World Older Persons Day

Freedom fighter ABM Asaduzzaman, inaugurated the Dr. Shamsuddin Ahmed Old Age Home in Bara Kauniakandi, Nawabganj, Dhaka, building it at his own land and expense.

Thanks to our parents, we have seen this world, our safe childhood, adolescence, youth, and even our guardians in adulthood, who are now on the verge of adulthood. Today, our responsibility is to give them the respect and rights they deserve.

The organization, giving importance to this issue, has been conducting public awareness activities in the society through road shows, seminars, and programs at various times in the country and abroad under the slogan “Serve the elderly, prepare for your own disability” for the past 12 years and is currently going to start “Dr. Shamsuddin Ahmed Old Age Home”.

On the occasion of World Older Persons Day on 1 October 2025, the founder of the said elderly care home, freedom fighter ABM Asaduzzaman, inaugurated the Dr. Shamsuddin Ahmed Old Age Home in Bara Kauniakandi, Nawabganj, Dhaka, building it at his own land and expense. Where in the future, about 200 helpless and underprivileged elderly people will be provided with free accommodation, food and health services.

The special responsibility of the Senior Citizens' Service Home is vested in the Founding Chairman and President ABM Asaduzzaman, Vice-Chairman-Rubina Zaman, General Secretary-Prominent Poet and Journalist Raju Alim, Treasurer-Anisuzzaman, Organizing Secretary-Rezwana Hossain Sumi, Publicity Secretary, Shakil Hossain, Executive Member-Md. Hiru, Advisor-Md. Nurul Haque, Legal Advisor-Advocate Jasimuddin and Advocate Zakir Hossain, Members-Md. Iqbal Ahmed, Faimul Hasan and Zakir Hossain.

Not only an old age home or senior citizen's service home, but also in the future, it is committed to establishing the area as a "civilized city" through several other social development works including good medical treatment and motivation centers for the drug-addicted generation, women and child development programs. - Press releases
