20 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across the capital to ensure overall security during the Bangla New Year celebrations.

The deployment has been made to facilitate the peaceful, festive, and uninterrupted celebration of Pahela Baishakh, a cherished cultural tradition of Bangladesh, observed with due dignity, enthusiasm and festivity.

To ensure public safety and smooth participation of citizens, BGB personnel have been stationed at several key locations in Dhaka.

These include Ramna Batamul and its surrounding areas, InterContinental Dhaka, Kakrail, Matsya Bhaban, Engineers Institution gate, Doel Chattar, Bangladesh National Museum in Shahbagh, Shaheed Zia Shishu Park, the Chhayanaut at Ramna Batamul, Ramna stage, and Rabindra Sarobar in Dhanmondi, reports UNB.

Officials said the BGB is coordinating with other law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order throughout the celebrations.

The force has urged citizens to celebrate the Bengali New Year in a peaceful, safe and orderly manner.
