Remittance inflow up 13.5% y-on-y till Sep 28: BB

Bangladesh received US$8.357 billion in workers' remittances during the July 1 to September 28 period of the current fiscal year (FY 2026–27), registering a 13.5 percent year-on-year growth, according to the latest data released by Bangladesh Bank.

During the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year (FY 2025–26), remittance inflow stood at US$7.365 billion.

Expatriate Bangladeshis sent $2.532 billion in remittances during the first 28 days of September (September 01–28, 2026), marking a 2.7 percent growth compared to $2.465 billion received during the same period in September 2025.

On September 28 alone, the single-day remittance inflow reached $98 million.

The steady growth in worker remittances continues to bolster Bangladesh's foreign exchange inflows and support overall external-sector stability. -UNB
