Renowned journalist Sarwar Uddin passes away

Sarwar Uddin Ahmed, former correspondent of the Daily Financial Express, passed away on Saturday night. He was 78.


Family sources said he died around 8:40 pm while undergoing treatment at a private clinic in the city. He had been suffering from various illnesses, including a heart ailment.

His namaz-e-janaza was held at Sikder Ghata Eidgah Maidan in Raujan this afternoon. Later, he was buried at his family graveyard.

Sarwar Uddin Ahmed is survived by his wife, three daughters, a son, and a host of relatives and well-wishers.

The Chattogram Press Club and the Chattogram Metropolitan Journalists Union, in separate statements, expressed deep shock at his death and conveyed their sincere sympathy to the bereaved family members, reports BSS.
