Swedish envoy calls on Jamaat Ameer

Swedish Ambassador to Bangladesh Nicolas Weeks paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman at his office in the capital's Bashundhara area this morning.


During the meeting, they discussed the overall situation in Bangladesh, bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Sweden, and issues related to trade, commerce, and diplomatic engagement.

Both sides expressed hope for further strengthening of economic and developmental cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Weeks also inquired about Dr Rahman's health and wished him a speedy recovery.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and former Member of Parliament Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Assistant Secretary General and Head of Central Publicity and Media Department Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, Central Executive Council Member Mubarak Hossain, Foreign Affairs Advisor to Jamaat Ameer Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan North Medical Thana unit Dr. SM Khaliduzzaman and North South University Professor Rashedul Islam were also present, among others, on the occasion, reports BSS.
