The Chief Adviser’s Press Wing has strongly denied a recent report that claimed a photograph from a medal distribution event involving the Chief Adviser was a secret image.

In a statement posted on its verified social media page, the press wing clarified that the photograph—showing the Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus awarding medals to police officers—was officially taken and shared with the media.

The image, which sparked speculation due to supposed similarities in police uniforms with those of another country, was taken during Police Week on 29 April at Rajarbagh Police Lines. On that day, 62 police personnel were awarded for their outstanding service.

Among those in the photograph were Additional Inspector Generals Khandaker Rafiqul Islam, Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, and Md Chibgat Ullah, along with Deputy Inspector General Kazi Md Fazlul Karim. Each officer received the Bangladesh Police Medal in recognition of their meritorious performance.

“There is nothing secret about the photograph. It was sent out to the media as part of official coverage,” the press wing said.

The statement also condemned the report’s attempt to mislead the public and spread misinformation involving the armed forces, labelling it a deliberate attempt at propaganda against the country.
