"We aim to build a consensus that represents not just one society or group but reflects a truly national viewpoint," he said during a discussion with the Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party at the LD Hall of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Building.
The event was attended by commission members Safar Raj Hossain, Justice Emdadul Hoque, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, and the Special Assistant (Consensus Building) to the Chief Adviser, Monir Haider.
Professor Riaz stressed the importance of ensuring the participation of ordinary citizens alongside political parties in the reform process, to create a more inclusive and effective framework for change.
A 13-member delegation led by AB Party Chairman, Mujibur Rahman Manju, took part in the discussion. The National Consensus Commission resumed its talks with political parties after the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday, focusing on building a broad national consensus on the reform agenda.
Earlier in the day, representatives from the Bangladesher Samyabadi Dal (ML), Progressive Democratic Party (PDP), Samajtantrik Majdur Party (SMP), and Social Democratic Party submitted their views on the reform proposals to Prof. Ali Riaz at the Commission's office in the Parliament Building, as part of the left-leaning democratic alliance.
