Govt Opposes Mob Justice, Says Farooki

Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki stated today that the interim government does not condone mob justice and assured that law enforcement agencies are prepared to handle any situation.
"On behalf of the interim government, I can say that we do not support any form of mob justice. Our law enforcement is doing its best to manage the situation," Farooki said.
He made these remarks during his visit to the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2025 at the Bangla Academy, where he was accompanied by Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yao Wen.
Farooki urged citizens to act responsibly and refrain from engaging in extrajudicial actions, adding, “It’s time to focus on building the country.”
Reflecting on the country’s lawlessness post-August 5, he emphasized the need for vigilance and warned against mob violence: “We must stay alert and avoid getting involved in mobbing.”
Commenting on the recent political activities of the Awami League, he said, “In just six months, fascists and their collaborators abroad have started inciting unrest. If you have a case to answer, come back and face trial. The incitement you are spreading is deeply concerning."
