
Awami League (AL) Advisory Council Member and central 14-party alliance spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu today said the 14-party alliance will thwart all conspiracies against democracy in the country.
"Being imbued with the spirit of the War of Liberation and under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the worthy daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the 14-party alliance will be in the field to prevent all conspiracies against the democracy collectively like previous times," he said.
The veteran AL leader said these while addressing a discussion organized by the 14-party alliance at Muktijodha Hall of the Institution of Diploma Engineers (IDEB), Bangladesh in the capital on the occasion of the Great Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day.
About BNP's evil politics, Amu said that BNP wants to catch fish in troubled water in the name of the political program after failing in all movements-struggles.
No conspiracy will succeed in Bangladesh, he said, adding that political violence of BNP-Jamaat will be resisted.
Jatiya Party Presidium Member Ejaz Ahmed Mukta conducted the programme while AL Presidium Members Mofazzel Hossain Chowdhury Maya and Advocate Kamrul Islam, President of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad) Hasanul Haque Inu, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh Dilip Barua, Politburo Member of the Workers Party of Bangladesh (WPB) Comrade Kamrul Ahsan, Communist Kendro convener Dr Wazedul Islam, Gono Azadi League President Advocate SK Sikder, Dhaka South City unit of AL General Secretary Humayun Kabir and its former General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad, among others, spoke on the occasion, reports BSS.
