Acting President Hafiz Pays Tribute to Zia, Khaleda

Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, on Sunday paid homage at the graves of former president Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Khaleda Zia at Zia Uddyan in Dhaka.
He placed wreaths at the graves at 12:46pm and later offered Fateha and joined a special prayer seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia.
The acting president was accompanied by President’s Office Public Division Secretary Khan Md Nurul Amin, Press Secretary Md Sarwar Alam, Military Secretary to the President Major General A S M Bahauddin and State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraque Hossain.
Earlier in the day, Hafiz Uddin Ahmad paid tribute to the martyrs of the Great Liberation War by placing a wreath at the National Memorial in Savar.
Upon his arrival at the memorial premises, he was accorded a guard of honour by members of the armed forces.
