BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman left for the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar after paying tribute at the grave of his father, former president Ziaur Rahman, in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar of the capital.

The bulletproof bus carrying Tarique departed from Zia’s mausoleum at around 5:00pm on Friday.

Authorities have completed all preparations at the National Martyrs’ Memorial ahead of his arrival, with security measures tightened. Members of the police, detective branch, RAB and BGB have been deployed to maintain law and order and ensure overall security.
