The National Independent Investigation Commission probing the 2009 BDR carnage has issued a public notice urging individuals to share any information or evidence related to the incident through its official communication channels.
Despite the challenge of investigating an event that occurred nearly 16 years ago, the commission is proceeding methodically in its effort to uncover the truth, according to official sources.
In its public notice, the commission appealed for credible information and eyewitness accounts concerning the tragic and unprecedented killings that took place during the BDR mutiny.
Members of the public are invited to submit information via the official website www.bdr-commission.org or by email at commission@bdr-commission.org. Information can also be provided in person.
Alternatively, submissions can be sent by courier or post to the following address:
Bangladesh Reference Institute for Chemical Measurements (BRICM)
Notun Bhaban (7th Floor), Dr. Qudrat-e-Khuda Road (Science Laboratory Road),
Dhanmondi, Dhaka-1205.
If the commission needs to collect information from outside Dhaka or abroad, individuals may request a visit to their location by contacting the same address.
A dedicated hotline has been set up at 01769-600281, available from 9 am to 5 pm. The commission has assured that all identities and shared information will be kept strictly confidential.
The public notice was signed by the commission’s chairman, Major General (retd) ALM Fazlur Rahman.
