“This massive turnout proves that every Bangladeshi carries Palestine in their heart,” Azhari said while addressing the crowd. “Though we are geographically far, our love for Palestine and Al-Aqsa unites us.”
He led chants of “Free, free Palestine! Palestine will be free!” with the crowd echoing in unison.
The rally, which began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, aimed to show solidarity with the people of Gaza and protest against ongoing Israeli aggression.
Pro-Palestine protests have been taking place across the country, joining global calls to end Israel’s assault on Gaza.
Among others, Islamic speaker Sheikh Ahmadullah and National Citizen Party (NCP) southern region organiser Hasnat Abdullah also spoke at the event, calling for justice and peace in Palestine.
