Shamsul Islam given charge of Armed Forces Division

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's Defence Advisor retired brigadier general AKM Shamsul Islam has been given the additional responsibility of overseeing the Armed Forces Division alongside the Ministry of Defence.


The government announced his appointment today.

According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division today, Shamsul Islam's responsibilities have been re-designated with the status of a state minister as per the Prime Minister's intent.

He previously served as the chief security officer of former BNP chief Khaleda Zia and Tarique when he was the acting chairman, reports BSS.
