Bus Fire in India Kills at Least 20 After Collision

At least 20 people were killed and several others sustained burn injuries early Friday when a private bus caught fire after colliding with a motorcycle in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district.

The accident took place near Chinna Tekur village when the bus, carrying 42 passengers from Hyderabad to Bengaluru, burst into flames moments after the collision, police said.

Most of the passengers were reportedly asleep at the time of the crash. Locals rushed to the scene and helped rescue the injured before fire tenders and police teams arrived.

The injured were taken to Kurnool Government General Hospital. Authorities warned that the death toll could rise as several victims remain in critical condition.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
