OIC Secy-Gen Rejects & Condemns Plans to Displace Palestinians from their Lands

Jeddah, March 5, 2025 - At the kind invitation of His Excellency Mr. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), participated on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in Cairo, in the work of the Extraordinary Arab Summit, the Palestine Summit.

During this occasion, His Excellency the Secretary-General delivered a speech in which he stressed the importance of holding this summit at this critical stage that the Palestinian cause is going through and the dangerous developments it is witnessing, which reflects the spirit of Arab and Islamic solidarity with the Palestinian cause and the concerted efforts to confront the policies of the Israeli occupation and its aggressive crimes in the Gaza Strip.

His Excellency condemned all statements and plans that aim to displace Palestinians from their land, which constitutes a clear violation of international law and international norms.

The Secretary-General pointed to the importance of enhancing efforts to take concrete measures to provide support to the Palestinian people, achieve a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza, provide humanitarian assistance to all areas of Gaza, and begin the reconstruction process. He also condemned the targeting of UNRWA, calling for mobilizing financial and political support for this UN agency. 

At the end of his speech before the extraordinary Arab Summit, His Excellency stressed the need to expand recognition of the State of Palestine, support its full accession to the United Nations, and back up the efforts of the international coalition to implement the two-state solution. – OIC News
