US Pauses Military Aid to Ukraine After Tensions with Zelensky
The United States has decided to pause military aid to Ukraine, a move that follows a tense confrontation between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office. A White House official confirmed the pause on Monday, citing the need to reassess the aid to ensure it is effectively contributing to peace efforts.
This decision comes as the Trump administration seeks to review its support strategy, with the aid suspension lasting until the President deems that Ukraine’s leadership demonstrates a genuine commitment to peace. According to reports from Bloomberg and Fox News, the US is halting not only military supplies in transit but also weapons and equipment currently awaiting delivery in Poland and other areas.
"This is not a permanent end to aid, just a temporary pause," an anonymous Trump administration official clarified to Fox News.
In a press briefing earlier, Trump denied that the suspension of military aid was under discussion but suggested that Zelensky "should be more appreciative" of the US support, hinting at strained relations between the two leaders.
