
According to an office order issued by the Ministry of Commerce on July 26, Fazlul Hoque was appointed as the administrator to ensure the continuity of the activities of the country's apex trade body and safeguard the interests of trade, commerce and industry, according to a message issued by the Ministry of Commerce today.
The appointment was made under Section 17 of the Trade Organizations Act, 2022.
As per the ministry's directive, the newly appointed administrator has been entrusted with conducting a fair, transparent and neutral election to the FBCCI within 120 days and handing over the responsibilities to the newly elected board.
Fazlul Hoque formally took charge of the office today in line with the government's appointment order.
A veteran business leader, Fazlul Hoque previously served as president of BKMEA and has long been associated with the country's readymade knitwear sector, reports BSS.
