GENEVA (10 February 2025) - The UN Human Rights Office will hold a news conference at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on Thursday, 13 February at 09:30 local time (14.30 Dhaka time) to launch the OHCHR Fact-Finding Report: Human Rights Violations and Abuses related to the Protests of July and August 2024 in Bangladesh.
High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk will deliver opening remarks. The other panellists will be Rory Mungoven, Chief of the Asia-Pacific Section, Jyotsna Poudyal, Human Rights Officer, and Ravina Shamdasani, Chief Spokesperson.
The news conference will be broadcast live on UN Web TV for those wishing to listen only.
For those journalists based in Bangladesh who would like to ask a question, you must register your interest with Tara Jayaram (via the Microsoft Form linked here) by Tuesday 21:00 Dhaka time to be able to access the news conference via Zoom. Access is strictly limited to journalists.
