Seminar on health impacts of climate change held at the Bangladesh University of Professionals on Sunday.

Dhaka, 27 April: The Centre for Higher Studies and Research (CHSR) of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) organized a seminar today focusing on two critical themes-“Health Implications of Extreme Climate Change: Evidence from the Selected Coastal Bangladesh” and “Service Quality of the Digital Land Services of Local Administration in Bangladesh: A Study of Upazila Land Office (ULO)”. The seminar aimed to share the findings of two UGC-funded research projects conducted during the Fiscal Year 2023–2024. The purpose of the event was to shed light on the growing health risks due to climate change in Bangladesh’s coastal regions and to evaluate the effectiveness, citizen satisfaction, and trust in digital land services provided by local administration offices.

The event brought together academics, researchers, and public administrators from various disciplines to discuss the practical implications of these research findings. It served as a valuable platform for collaborative learning, policy discussion, and knowledge exchange. Distinguished researchers from BUP who conducted the studies presented their findings during the seminar.

Their works highlighted urgent challenges and actionable recommendations for ensuring health resilience in climate-vulnerable zones and improving the quality and accessibility of digital public services at the grassroots level.

BUP Vice Chancellor Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam, BSP, ndc, afwc, psc, MPhil, PhD was present at the event as the chief guest. Among others, senior officials of BUP, faculty members, administrative staff, and students attended the seminar. - Press release
