The condition of the critically ill child rape victim from Magura has shown a slight improvement, with reports confirming that she blinked her eyes for the first time since being admitted to the hospital. Chief Adviser’s deputy press secretary, Abdul Kalam Azad Majumder, shared the update with the media this afternoon, citing physicians at the Foreign Service Academy.

While her physical condition remains fragile, doctors are hopeful for further improvement in the next few days. Majumder also mentioned that Lieutenant General (retd.) Abdul Hafiz, the Chief Adviser’s special assistant on defense, has been in regular contact with the child’s medical team.

“The child’s condition has slightly improved, and this is the first time she has blinked her eyes,” Majumder said. “While oxygen supply to her brain was initially disrupted due to suffocation, and water accumulated in her brain could not be removed, the air in her chest has now been cleared. The doctors remain optimistic that her health will continue to improve in the coming days.”

The victim is currently receiving treatment at the Pediatric ICU of the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital.
