Rahmatganj blank Ctg. Abahani 2-0 in BPL

Dhaka, 11 Apr -Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society moved to fourth position in the Bangladesh Premier League football when they beat Chittagong Abahani Limited by 2-0 goals held at Birshreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Friday.

In the proceeding, defender Tanvir Hossain and Ghanaian forward Samuel 
Boateng scored one goal each for Rahmatganj. Both the goals came in the first 
half.

Tanvir opened an account scoring the first goal for Rahmatganj in the 2th 
minute while Samuel Boateng doubled the lead scoring the second goal in the 
45th minute of the match. 

After the breather, Rahmatganj however got several scoring chanes to increase 
the margin but they failed to score any lack of proper finishing in the 
remaining proceeding.

With the day's win, the traditional old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj secured 18 
points from 11 matches while the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited 
remained bottom of the table with three points playing the same number of 
matches.

Earlier, in the first leg, Rahmatganj beat Fakirerpool by the same identical 
margin of 2-0 goals held at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Abahani Limited, Dhaka will play against Dhaka 
Wanderers Club at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur (3.30 pm), Gopibagh 
outfit Brothers Union Club will face Fortis Football Club at Bir Flight 
Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj (3.30 pm) and holders 
Bashundhara Kings will take on Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited at 
Bashundhara Kings arena in the capital (5.30 pm).BSS
