Brazil, India To Meet In Historic Kolkata Friendly

Brazil's national football team will face India in an international friendly at Kolkata's Salt Lake Stadium on 3 October 2026, marking the Brazilian side's first-ever match in India.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed the fixture in a social media post on Thursday.

"After our friendly matches in Australia, our next destination will be India, where we are about to write a new chapter in our history. On 3 October, Brazil will take to the field on Indian soil for the first time at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata," the CBF said.

Brazil's squad is expected to include stars such as Vinícius Júnior and Raphinha.

The CBF said a large share of Brazil's overseas supporters live in India and described the match as a special occasion for a country that has followed Brazilian football with "immense love and passion" for generations.

"See you in Kolkata," the federation said in its post.

India will host the five-time world champions in what is being described as a landmark fixture for Indian football. The match will also be Brazil's first appearance in India at senior men's national-team level.
