15 shops destroyed in Habiganj fire

At least 15 shops including grocery and vegetable shops and a restaurant were burnt to ashes in Sutang Bazar under Shaistaganj upazila here today.


On information, two units of Shaistaganj Fire Service Station and Habiganj Fire Service Station rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control after two hours of efforts.

The fire is primarily suspected to be originated from an electric short circuit, according to Ariful Islam, station officer of Shaistaganj Fire Service Station.

Shaistaganj Police Station officer-in-charge Dilip Kanta Nath said the fire incurred losses worth over Tk 70 lakhs, reports BSS.
