Fire at Shyampur Sandal Recycling Factory Quickly Contained

A fire broke out early this morning at a sandal recycling factory in Shyampur, but emergency services quickly brought the blaze under control.


The fire began around 5:00 a.m. at Majumder Traders, a sandal recycling facility located at Plot 14, Road No. 6, Shyampur BSIC area, Kadamtali. According to Md. Anwarul Islam, the media officer for the Fire Service and Civil Defence, the department was alerted shortly after the fire began.

Seven fire engines from the Postogola, Sutrapur, and Siddiqbazar stations responded to the scene at 5:08 a.m. After more than two hours of intense firefighting efforts, the fire was fully contained by 7:18 a.m., Islam confirmed.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and the cause of the fire, as well as the full extent of the damage, remains under investigation.
