Lalon Festival begins in Jhenaidah

A three-day Lalon Memorial Festival began in Harinakunda upazila of the district on Thursday.



 A three-day Lalon Memorial Festival began in Harinakunda upazila of the district on Thursday.

The festival was inaugurated in Horishpur Lalon academy field.

Researcher Dr Siddhartha Shankar, Deputy Commissioner Monira Begum, General Secretary of district unit Awami League Saidul Karim Minto and folk singer Abdul Latif Shah discussed Lallon Shah's life and works in a function held there.

Lalon songs will be sung in the festival every day. A huge number of Baul and devotees of Fakir Lalon Shah gathered the festival.

A Mela was also set up at the Lalon academy in Horishpur.
