The Ministry of Youth and Sports has formed a five-member investigation committee after cancelling the recruitment examination for Assistant Upazila Youth Development Officer posts under the Department of Youth Development following the circulation of question papers on social media.

The ministry issued an office order in this regard on Saturday.

According to the order, the ministry came to know that question papers for the recruitment examination scheduled for October 10 for vacant 11th-grade posts of Assistant Upazila Youth Development Officer posts have been published on social media and the test was subsequently cancelled.

An additional secretary of the ministry's Administration Wing has been made convener of the five-member committee to investigate the incident.

The other members are a joint secretary from the ministry's Finance and Performance Management Wing, a representative of the rank of joint secretary from the Ministry of Public Administration, and the director of Seed Financing at the Department of Youth Development.

A deputy secretary of the ministry's Administration Wing will serve as the member-secretary of the committee.

The committee has been tasked with recording statements from members of the recruitment committee, officials and employees involved in preparing, printing and distributing the question papers, as well as internal and external accomplices.

It will also examine the surrounding circumstances to determine how the question papers were leaked.

The committee has been asked to submit its investigation report to the ministry within the next three working days, reports UNB.
