Prime Minister's Adviser on Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir today discussed expanding cooperation in renewable energy, green investment and sustainable development with international climate leaders.

The discussion was taken place when a climate delegation led by former executive director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and former United Nations Under-Secretary-General Erik Solheim paid a courtesy call on Kobir at his office in Dhaka, said a press release here.

The delegation also included Kavin Kumar Kandasamy, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ProClime, an international climate entrepreneur working on carbon markets, climate finance, biochar and sustainable development initiatives across South Asia.

Prime Minister's Special Assistant on Environment, Forest and Climate Change Dr. Saimum Parvez was present at the meeting.

During the discussions, the participants explored avenues for expanding cooperation between Bangladesh and international partners in addressing climate change, environmental conservation, carbon credits, green investment, renewable energy and sustainable development.

Both sides expressed optimism about Bangladesh's prospects for climate-resilient development and environmentally sustainable investment and reaffirmed their interest in strengthening future cooperation in these priority areas, reports BSS.
