The government has set a goal to save 3,100 megawatts of electricity daily through austerity measures, including reduced office hours and cutbacks in official spending.

The measures were announced during press briefings on Thursday and Friday, with the specific power-saving target confirmed in a press release on Friday.

According to the release, the Power Division has drawn up a strategic plan to meet the daily conservation goal and monitor its implementation.
