Bangladesh forex reserves at $32.48b under national method

Staff Correspondent: Economy 2025-12-17, 11:06pm

Bangladesh’s foreign exchange reserves currently stand at $32.48 billion under the country’s national accounting method.

However, when calculated using the International Monetary Fund’s Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Manual (BPM6) methodology, the reserves amount to $27.82 billion, according to the latest data released by Bangladesh Bank on Tuesday.

The difference reflects variations between national reporting standards and the IMF-prescribed international framework for measuring reserve assets.
