Bangladesh Bank Buys $47.5m to Support Taka

Bangladesh Bank today purchased US$47.50 million from eight commercial banks through a multiple auction method as part of its ongoing strategy to curb the depreciation of the US dollar against the taka and support the remittance and export sectors.

According to central bank data, the dollars were bought at a rate of Tk121.70–121.75.
