Man held with 9,730 Yaba pills in Bagerhat

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested an alleged drug peddler along with 9,730 Yaba tablets from Baroikhali of Morelganj upazila in Bagerhat district on Sunday.


The arrestee was identified as Zahidul Islam alias Kalam, 37, son of Ratan Hawladar of Mathbaria upazila in Pirojpur district.

He was wanted in different cases filed with the Teknaf and Jatrabari police stations.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rab-6 conducted a drive in the area and arrested Kalam along with the drugs, said a press release issued by Rab-6, reports UNB.

Later, he was handed over to the Morelganj Police Station.
