2 die ‘consuming excessive liquor’ in B’baria

Two men died and two others fell sick apparently after consuming excessive liquor in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district early Saturday.


The deceased were identified as Srinibas Malakar, 65 and Sourav Das, 25, son of Sudha Das, both residents of Mirzapur village  in the upazila.

Bijoynagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Shahidul Islam said the victims fell sick after drinking excessive liquor on Thursday night, reports UNB. 

They were admitted to Life Care Hospital, a private clinic in Brahmanbaria town, as their condition deteriorated and they died there early Saturday, the OC said.

Preparations are underway to send their bodies to the district hospital for autopsy, he added.

Two others who also fell sick are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
