2 die of dengue, 715 hospitalised in 24 hrs

Two more dengue patients died and 715 were hospitalised across the country during the last 24 hours.


Of the newly hospitalized patients, 131 were admitted in Barishal Division (outside City Corporation), 70 in Chattogram Division (outside City Corporation), 142 in Dhaka Division (outside City Corporation), 141 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 114 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 41 in Khulna Division (outside City Corporation), 34 in Mymensingh Division (outside City Corporation), 32 in Rajshahi Division (outside City Corporation) and 10 in Rangpur Division (outside City Corporation). 

During the same period, 666 dengue patients were released from hospitals after recovery, raising the total number of recoveries this year to 48,667, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

So far in 2025, a total of 51,404 dengue cases have been recorded, of which 60.9 percent are male and 39.1 percent female, the DGHS release added.

With the latest two deaths, the total number of fatalities from dengue this year has reached 217, reports BSS. 

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214, while 575 deaths from the dengue disease were reported.
