41 new dengue cases reported in 24hrs

The country recorded 41 new dengue cases in the 24 hours till Tuesday morning, pushing the total number of reported cases this year to 2,148, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).


Of the newly reported cases, 15 were from areas under Barishal Division (outside the city corporation areas), 12 from Chattogram Division (outside city corporation areas), two from Dhaka Division (outside city corporation areas), and one from Rangpur Division (outside city corporation areas).

Within Dhaka city, one new case was reported under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), while Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) recorded 10 cases during the same period.

So far, 16 people have died from dengue-related complications this year, the DGHS said.

Currently, 112 dengue patients are receiving treatment in hospitals across the country.

Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people and there were 101,214 dengue cases, also 100,040 recoveries in the same year, reports UNB.
