4 die of dengue, 2,193 hospitalised in 24 hrs

Four people died of dengue, and 2,193 were hospitalised after being infected with dengue in the last 24 hours till 8:00am today, according to a regular report of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With four deaths in the past 24 hours, the death toll from the disease stood at 303 this year.

Of the newly hospitalized dengue patients, 1,030 were in Dhaka Division, 70 in Mymensingh Division, 293 in Chattogram Division, 304 in Khulna Division, 160 in Rajshahi, 84 in Rangpur Division, 236 in Barishal Division and 16 in Sylhet Division.

According to the report, a total of 99,275 dengue patients have so far been hospitalized across the country this year.

However, in the last 24 hours, 1,796 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

So far, 92,803 dengue patients have recovered and returned home after receiving treatment in hospitals.

A total of 102,861 people were infected with dengue, and 413 people died from the disease last year, reports BSS.
