Two more die of dengue in 24 hrs

Health officials today said they recorded 306 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least two persons in the past 24 hours.


"During the period, (of the 306) 58 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 66 in Chattogram division, 26 in Dhaka division, 41 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 28 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 38 in Khulna division, 13 in Mymensingh division, 13 in Rajshahi division and 23 in Rangpur division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 32 deaths while the disease inflicted 9,676.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country, reports BSS.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
