
One more child has died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours until 8am on 1 July, raising the combined total of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths in Bangladesh to 719.
With the latest fatality, suspected measles deaths have risen to 626, while laboratory-confirmed deaths now stand at 93, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
During the same 24-hour period, 951 new suspected cases were reported, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 1,02,028.
In addition, 167 new laboratory-confirmed cases were recorded, raising the total confirmed infections to 12,132.
Since 10 April, 85,509 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalised across the country, of whom 81,882 have recovered, DGHS data showed.
Health officials continue to monitor the outbreak as case numbers remain high across multiple regions.
