2 more die of measles, 1,151 infected in 24 hours

Two more people have died of measles in the country in the last 24 hours, according to a press release sent from the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) here today. 


It said that the number of suspected measles patients in the last 24 hours is 1,151, while the number of suspected measles patients from March 15 to April 30 is 37,131. 

The number of confirmed measles patients in the last 24 hours is 84. The number of confirmed measles patients from March 15 to date is 5,028.

From March 15 to April 30, 25,158 people were admitted to hospitals with suspected measles. During the same period, 21,756 people recovered and were discharged from the hospital. 

Including two deaths in the last 24 hours, 49 people have died of confirmed measles and 227 people have died of suspected measles since March 15. 

So far, the highest number of 16,821 people have been infected with suspected measles in Dhaka Division. Of these, 3,433 have been confirmed to have measles, reports BSS.
